The Damzelfly Story

Growing up, I had a passion for movement, adventure, and the outdoors. After the early 2000s market crash, my design engineering career in the automotive industry ended. I moved to the mountains and joined ski patrol, where I discovered the life-changing "P-System" pants sold by Outdoor Research called Wild Roses.

Dode Kuntz Wild Roses were designed with a zipper for quick, hassle-free bathroom breaks. After the founder of OR, Ron Gregg, tragically died in an avalanche, the corporation discontinued the product line which visionary Ron Gregg believed in. Women were once again stuck with gear not meeting their biological needs.

Years passed, and I wore my P-System pants until they were held together by tape. Frustrated, I pleaded with dozens of gear companies to adopt this simple but liberating design. No one would pick it up. I was forced back to the outdated zipper system, avoiding drinks and delaying breaks to avoid the hassle of unzipping, untucking, and re-layering.

I returned to engineering, but the idea of creating better gear for women never left me. Then came my breast cancer diagnosis, which made me rethink everything. I realized I really wanted to share this game changing design with women.  I hope you find this gear as freeing as I have.
